Pickerington, Ohio: Local dad, Jeffrey Daugherty, 43, is in quite the pickle. Usually, Jeff is able to get out of back to school shopping with his daughter, Janessa, 13, by getting his wife, Angie, to take her. But as Angie was last second called into work today, not this time!
Unfortunately for Jeff, Janessa doesn’t only want to go to Target today for school supplies. She also wants to go to popular preteen girls’ retailer, Justice, for back to school clothing.
“I have been dreading this day for some time, as I absolutely hate Justice,” Jeff told reporters. “Practically speaking, it’s too expensive for clothing she won’t want to wear in three months. But ultimately, the store is just…too much. Too much glitter, too much girl stuff, too many plush animals. I don’t know how I’m going to handle the first 10 minutes in there, let alone the 3 hours Janessa will likely need for all the clothes she will try on.”
Thus far, Jeff plans on bringing several newspapers and his book on financial planning to read in the corner while Janessa roams through the store. While demoralized by the demands of the day, Jeff remains optimistic.
“As long as Janessa does not ask to go to Abercrombie and Fitch or Hot Topic, I should be able to keep it cool.”
